I've upgraded from win98 to winXP, and it there's no Soundblaster 16
(or whatever it was) emulation listed in the device manager anymore.
Does this mean that there's no sound for DOS games with Sounbblaser
on XP? I've installed the newest Creative driver upgrade.

I've only tried to play Red Alert 1 so far, no sound there :(

The SB16 emulation indeed is not supported on WinXP because the OS's
limits on what drivers are allowed to do prevents support. It only
works under real DOS or DOS-based windows with VXD drivers.

There's the crappy SoundBlaster emulation that WinXP has by default.
You want to download VDMSound which provides much better SB emulation.
